Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our Lorem Ipsum generator and fake data tools.
What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is placeholder text commonly used in the graphic design, publishing, and web development industries. It is derived from a scrambled passage of Latin by Cicero from 45 BC, making it resemble natural language without distracting the viewer with readable content. Designers use it to preview layouts and fonts before the final copy is available.
Is this fake data safe to use for testing?
Yes, all data generated by FakeDataGen is randomly created using bundled word and name pools. None of the generated data corresponds to real people, addresses, phone numbers, or companies. It is safe to use for software testing, database seeding, UI mockups, and demo environments.
Do I need to create an account?
No. FakeDataGen is completely free and does not require any registration, sign-up, or login. All data generation happens directly in your browser using client-side JavaScript — no data is ever sent to any server.
Can I export the generated data?
Yes. The Lorem Ipsum generator includes a one-click Copy button. The Fake Data generator supports two export formats: Copy as CSV (for spreadsheets and databases) and Copy as JSON (for APIs and programming).
How many fake records can I generate at once?
You can generate between 1 and 100 fake data records at a time. This range is chosen to keep the browser responsive and the output manageable. If you need larger datasets, you can generate multiple batches.
What is Hipster Ipsum mode?
Hipster Ipsum is an alternative placeholder text style available alongside the classic Lorem Ipsum. Instead of Latin words, it uses trendy, modern vocabulary (like 'artisan', 'biodiesel', 'cold-pressed') to give a different tonal feel for mockups that need a more contemporary, playful voice.
Does this site use cookies or track users?
